Completing a marathon is a goal that I used to think was beyond my reach. It was for other people who could do something like that. I am training to beat the voice that tells me, “You can’t!” My goal is to finish this marathon with the Desert Mountain States Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

More importantly I am training on behalf of a leukemia patient. My honor patient who makes me strive to achieve both of my goals is J.J. Jennings. J.J. is an eight-year-old 2nd grader diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in December of 2002. J.J. loves to swim, play little league baseball, basketball, and hockey. He loves math and science and wants to be an inventor when he grows up.
